This sale is for seeds of తోటకూర (Amaranth), also called by many regional names, which is the BEST and EASIEST microgreens that you ever grow. తోటకూర (Amaranth) seeds, also called Indian Spinach / Thotakura (Andhra) / Keerai / Amaranth among many names, which is used widely in Indian, Chinese, and world dishes. Can be grown as microgreens for salads or the seeds can be ground into nutritious flour. Has a glossy green leaf, green stem, imparts a healthy appeal to salads.

How to Grow?

Edible Amaranth grows extremely well in warm climates. It is a fast-growing vegetable and can be harvested 30 days after sowing. You can also rake multiple harvests by the cut-and-grow-again method. Sow seeds in well-drained soil best (April – June) about 4 inches apart. Seeds are very small and will germinate best at a temperature above 65 F under dark conditions. Thin plants during the growth if necessary and thinning’s can be eaten. Fertilizers can be used but not really needed.

The leaves are very nutritious, rich in protein, iron, and vitamins, and have an excellent and distinct flavor. It has two times more calcium than milk. Cooked amaranth has a total digestibility of about 90%.

Amaranth seeds, like any other seeds, germinate better if soaked in warm water overnight. Add a couple of drops of 3% Hydrogen Peroxide to the soak to enhance germination.
